About Me
Dr. Victor Dinda is a highly skilled Medical Microbiologist and an educational leader with a profound impact on both scientific research and academic management. He currently serves as the Associate Director at the Institute of Open Distance and E-learning at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) in Kenya.
He pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, earning a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, with a minor in Chemistry. His dedication to advancing his knowledge in medical microbiology led him to complete a Master of Science in Medical Microbiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology from JKUAT,
Victor has a diverse work history, including lecturing in Medical Microbiology at MMUST since 2012 and holding the role of Visiting Microbiologist at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital. His expertise spans research, diagnostic laboratory operations, and teaching, with a focus on infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and public health. He has published extensively on these topics, contributing to journals such as Access Microbiology and African Health Sciences.
In his leadership role at MMUST, Victor has played a pivotal part in expanding online and distance education, ensuring the university remains a leader in digital learning innovations. His leadership and research have earned him professional memberships in organizations such as the Health and Care Professional Council UK (HCPC), the Infection Prevention Network Kenya (IPNET-K) and National treasurer of Distance Open and E-learning Practitioners Association of Kenya (DOLPAK)
